Nathaniel Scott Young

Nathaniel Scott Young, beloved son, brother, and friend, passed away on August 2, 2026, at the age of 21. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lisa Morris; paternal grandparents, Hurley Young and Barbara Riddle; maternal grandparents, Alfred and Sandra Morris and brother, David Young.

Nathaniel leaves behind his father, Thomas L. Young, Sr.; brother, Thomas L. Young, Jr.; sisters: Casey Young, Stephanie McClung (Eric) and Jennifer Botto (Joseph); nephews: Justin Tyler, Gunnar McClung; nieces: Jordan Tyler, Scarlett McClung, and Elinor Young. 

A young man with a zest for life, Nathaniel found joy in many pursuits. He delighted in the freedom of riding motorcycles, the camaraderie and challenge of shooting pool, and the satisfaction of collecting guns. These hobbies were more than pastimes; they were a reflection of his independent spirit, his appreciation for craftsmanship, and his joy in connecting with others over shared interests.

Those who had the privilege of knowing Nathaniel remember him not just for his passions, but for his unfailing kindness and genuine heart. He was always ready with a warm smile or a helping hand, making friends wherever he went and strengthening bonds within his family. His sense of adventure was matched only by his loyalty to those he loved.

The family will receive friends on Friday, August 14th from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Bladen-Gaskins Funeral Home in Elizabethtown. This gathering will offer an opportunity for those whose lives Nathaniel touched to share memories, offer comfort, and honor his life.
