Robert Terry Capps

Robert Terry Capps, 71, of Elizabethtown, passed away peacefully on August 20, 2026, at Elizabethtown Nursing Center. Born on April 2, 1955, in Edgecombe County, Robert was the beloved son of the late George Franklin Capps, Sr. and Sarah White Capps.

Throughout his life, Robert demonstrated dedication, service, and a deep love for his family and community. He honorably served his country in the United States Navy, proudly retiring with the rank of E6. His time in the Navy was marked by devotion and a strong sense of duty, traits which defined his character throughout his life.

After his military service, Robert continued to contribute to his community through his work at Smithfield and Bladen County EMS. His roles there reflected his commitment to helping others and his willingness to lend a hand wherever it was needed. His colleagues and friends remember him as someone who approached every task with a sense of responsibility and an unwavering work ethic.

Above all, Robert cherished his family. Those who knew him best recall his steadfast love and loyalty, qualities that provided strength and comfort to his loved ones. Robert's memory will be forever treasured by his surviving brother, George Capps, who shared a lifetime of memories, support, and brotherly affection with him.

In honoring Robert’s life, we remember a man whose warmth and dedication touched many. His service, both to his country and community, leaves a lasting legacy. Robert’s presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know him.
