Teddy “Ted” Earl Wade, 73, of Elizabethtown, passed away peacefully at his home on July 25, 2026. Born on December 13, 1952, in Baltimore, Maryland, Ted was the beloved son of the late Leonard Woody Wade and Ruby Cox Wade.
A man known for his solid work ethic, Ted dedicated much of his career to Murphy Brown as a land tech, where his commitment was evident to all who worked alongside him.
Ted’s life was marked by the deep connections he maintained with those he loved. His enjoyment of travel reflected his curiosity for the world and his appreciation for new experiences shared with family and friends. At the heart of everything he did was the well-being and happiness of those he cared for.
Ted leaves behind his wife, Mary Wade; sons: Greg Harvey and Ted Wade, Jr. (Amiee Lagana); daughters: Michelle Frisby (Darren) and Sherry Billings; sisters: Ella Sue Brooks and Mary LePhew. Ted’s legacy continues in his grandchildren: Gabriel Harvey, Andrew Harvey, Gavin Harvey, Kaleb Harvey, and Allyssa McKenzie (Ethan), each of whom brought immense joy to his heart.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Timothy Wayne Harvey, as well as his brothers, Carl Curtis and Woody Dean.
The family will receive friends from 1-1:45pm on Saturday, August 1st, at Bladen-Gaskins Funeral Home in Elizabethtown. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 2pm as friends and loved ones gather to honor and remember Ted’s remarkable life.
Ted’s warmth, dedication, and unwavering love for his family and friends will be forever cherished. His memory will remain alive in the hearts of all who were fortunate to know him.
