Willie Bordeaux

Willie Julius Bordeaux, 89, of Wilmington, North Carolina, peacefully passed away on Friday, May 15, 2026, at the Commons of Brightmore in Wilmington. Born on August 30, 1936, in Bladen County, he was the beloved son of the late Julius J. Bordeaux and Maggie L. DeVaughn.

Willie was a cherished member of his community, remembered fondly for his deep love of family and his enjoyment of life on the farm, where he especially treasured spending time with his grandchildren. His warmth and kindness left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

He is survived by his son, Joey L. Bordeaux, and daughter-in-law, Amy, of Leland; daughter-in-law, Joyce Bordeaux of Whiteville; grandchildren: Hunter Bordeaux (Jaimie) and Tracey Thomas (Brian); and great-grandchildren: Chase, Drake, Cruz, Hudson, and Kyler. Willie was preceded in death by his parents, his devoted wife, Margaret Bordeaux, and his son, Willie “Bill” Bordeaux, Jr.

The family will receive friends from 3-3:45pm on Wednesday, May 20th at Bladen-Gaskins Funeral Home in Elizabethtown. The funeral service will immediately follow at 4pm at the funeral home, offering a time to honor and celebrate the life of Mr. Bordeaux. Burial will take place thereafter at Bordeaux Cemetery, situated at 2987 Owen Hill Road, Elizabethtown NC 28337.

Willie's devotion to family and simple joys will be forever treasured by those whose lives he touched. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
