Addie Lee Bowen Callihan, 87, of Bladenboro passed away peacefully at her home on July 21, 2026. She was born in Bladen County one of seven children to the late Ernest Bowen and Chellie Dyson Bowen. Preceding her in death were her beloved husband, Jack Callihan, daughter, Lori Hamilton, and siblings, Clifton Bowen, Marion Bowen, Garland Bowen, Howard Bowen, Louise Thompson, and Irene Benton.
Addie was a devoted, Christian wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many. She and her husband opened their hearts and home as foster parents for about 10 years. They shared their love of Jesus with compassion and kindness to all who entered their doors. Addie not only loved others but loved nature. She enjoyed planting flowers, each bloom brought a smile to her face. She had a love of cooking and was famous among her church family for her chicken and pastry as well as corn dumplings. Her other past times included watching westerns and soap operas. The Young & Restless, The Bold & Beautiful and General Hospital were among her favorites. Addie is now reunited with the precious ones gone before her and she will be missed dearly by all who are left behind. Her devotion, unwavering faith and compassionate spirit will continue to live on in the many lives she touched here on this earth.
Left to cherish her beautiful memory are children, Alan Callihan (Georgette), Sharon Ray (Marc), Teresa Melton, and Angela Donaldson (Greg), 10 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, two great, great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
