Alma Britt

Alma Grace Britt, age 90, of Dublin, NC, entered into rest on Monday, January 28, 2013.
She is predeceased by her parents; Willie and Emma Beard, her husband Hilton Britt, son Danny Britt, three sisters: Lily Clark, Pauline Slaughter, and Becky Davis; and one brother, Walter Beard.
Ms. Britt is survived by her son Larry Britt and wife Robah of Tar Heel, one daughter Peggy Cooper of Greensboro, NC, two sisters: Emma Lee Brisson and husband Tommy of Dublin, and Mary Wilkins of Dublin, six grandchildren: Hunter Britt, Gary Cooper, Michelle Cooper, Felicia Britt, Laura Frisbie, and Danny Britt Jr., eight great grandchildren: Justin Mostillo, Haley Mostillo,Gage Aycock, Owen Newman, Alleigh Newman, Carter Britt, Annsley Britt, and Alicia Cooper and one great, great grandchild, Kameron Cooper.

Alma was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother. Her family was the center of her existence and had her unconditional love. She loved to cook and serve at her church, Dublin First Baptist. She was very active in the Lions Club fundraising dinners. Alma loved gardening, and pursued it until she reached her eighties. She loved canning, freezing, and cooking her fresh vegetables. She was a loving, industrious, and forgiving woman and will be greatly missed.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, January 30, 2013 from 6 to 8 PM at Bladen Gaskins Funeral Home in Elizabethtown and at other times, the home of Larry Britt at 314 Pine Street in Tar Heel, N.C. Funeral Services will be at 2:00 Pm Thursday, January 31, 2013 at Dublin First Baptist Church with the Rev. Cameron McGill officiating. Burial will follow services at Tatum Grimes Cemetery in Dublin, NC.
