Arthur Lee Watkins, formally of Elizabethtown, died Sunday, July 29, 2012 at Alpha Rehab and Nursing Center in South Carolina. He is preceded in death by sons Michael John and Christopher George Watkins and a brother, Alfred H. Watkins.
He was a World War II Veteran of the U.S. Navy.
He is survived by his wife June of the home; a son Danny Charles Watkins of Fargo, ND; daughters, Karen Lynn Boss of Albert Lee, MN, Rebecca Lynne Bauer of Fargo, ND, Becky Allin Edmonds of Greenville, SC, Mary Catherine Clayton of Simpsonville, SC; a brother, Robert Watkins of Redding, CA; sisters, Sarah Belle Watkins MacRae of Concord and Bette Jane Watkins Wagoner of Albemarle; eleven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 1, 2012 from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Bladen-Gaskins Funeral Home. The service will follow in the Chapel at 2:00 p.m. and burial at Elizabethtown City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Elizabethtown Optimist Club, 2508 Deer Walk Lane, Elizabethtown, NC 28337.
