Barbara Ann Blackburn Hood Sing Todd, 79, of Bladenboro passed away on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, while at the Dr. Robert M. Fales Hospice Pavillion in Wilmington, NC. She was born in Columbus County on November 12, 1945.

Barbara was married to her late husband James Aubrey Todd for 59 years. Together they raised six children that are left to carry on their legacy. Daughter Regina Todd Davis (Brad) of Elizabethtown and their children Christina “Tina”, April “Mae” and Justin “J.D.”, daughter Crystal Gail Todd of Elizabethtown and her two children Todd Bradley and Hannah Dazi, son James Jerome Todd (Tammy) of Dillon, SC and their children James Lloyd (Jay), Cheryl Ann, Caitlyn, Kristin and Cassandra, son Joseph Keith Todd (Angela) and their children Melissa and Christopher, all of Elizabethtown, son James Edward Todd (Anita) and their children Nancy, Jessica, and Stephen, and son Randy Nathaniel Todd (Shea) and their children Bryce, Nate, and Savannah as well as 21 great grandchildren.
Barbara was a devoted wife and mother. She simply adored her husband James, who was the love of her life, along with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a strong-willed woman and somehow always managed to get what she wanted. Often enough, whether her girls agreed with it or not they made sure she got whatever it was, that she never had to be alone and that she was always taken care of. She enjoyed camping trips and fishing with her husband, and cooking for her family until her eyesight wouldn’t allow her to. Still at Christmas time, with the help of James, her daughters and her grandchildren, she was able to continue the annual holiday baking. Her compassion and tenacity for life will live on in those precious memories.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 20, 2025, from 2-3 pm at the Bladen Gaskins Funeral Home in Elizabethtown with a funeral service at 3 pm with Pastor Darin Andrews officiating. Burial will follow the services in the Bladen Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Elizabethtown.
