Berry Leonard Lewis

Berry Leonard Lewis, 50, of Bladenboro passed away on Wednesday, March 18, 2026.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Berry and Erlene Lewis, maternal grandparents, JL and Edith Langston, his father, Ross Lewis Sr. and sister, Jenny Lewis Britt.

Berry was a Bladen County native who proudly served his community on the Board of Education for 12 years and operated the Carolina Country Catering business. He loved his little hometown where he not only grew up as a boy but chose as his forever home. He was known to most for his witty sense of humor, his contagious laugh and his ability to talk with anyone on any subject. His favorite saying, “It is what it is” reminded everyone who he was and how that he could always go with the flow even in difficult times.

He enjoyed spending time with his daughter, Taylor, who was his whole world, and he loved the great outdoors. He found great peace and happiness whether at the fishing hole or in the woods. At other times you could find him courtside or in front of the tv rooting for his NC State Wolfpack.

Berry will always be remembered as the loving son to his mother, Penny Langston Lewis of Bladenboro, devoted father of daughter, Taylor Lewis of Bladenboro, loving brother of Ross Lewis Jr. of White Lake, proud uncle to Colin Britt, Blake Britt and Kloe Lewis, and cherished nephew of Fredrick M. Langston.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 22, 2026, from 2:30-3:00 pm at First Baptist Church in Bladenboro immediately followed by a funeral service at 3pm with David Pait officiating. Burial will follow the services in the Lewis Cemetery on Marsh Road in Bladenboro.
