Betty Collum Davis

Betty Collum Davis, born on August 21, 1940, in Robeson County, North Carolina, peacefully passed away at her home in Elizabethtown, North Carolina, on April 9, 2026. She was a cherished mother, devoted wife, loving grandmother, and friend whose life touched the hearts of many.

Betty was blessed with a remarkable family and a lifetime of meaningful relationships. She is survived by her devoted husband of 20 years, Bizzle Lyle Davis, who stood faithfully by her side through life’s joys and trials. She was a proud mother to her sons Tim Lanier and his wife Kay; Bizzle Junior Davis and his wife Toy; and Brad Davis and his wife Gina. Her daughters, Joyce and her husband Hank Konczyski, RoseMarie and her husband Jimmy Hinson, Nancy and her husband Russell Bothwell, Elaine Merritt, and Brenda Tatum, also carry forward her legacy of love and strength.

Her heart was full with the presence of her grandchildren Jason, Amanda, Eric, Michelle, Angel, Tabitha, Lee, Katherine, Jessica, Rusty, Amy, Hailey, Nicole, Christina, April, Justin, Matthew, Brandon, and Hope, and her great-grandchildren Henry, Callie, Nathan, Cailey, Cody, Alyssa, Jacob, Devin, Clarissa, Mariah, Amber, Katie, Mason, Grayson, Rylee and Bradley. She is also survived by her brother, J T Collum.

Betty was predeceased by her beloved parents, Wesley Daniel "Bill" Collum and Evelyn Bordeaux Collum, who laid the foundation for her enduring values. She also bore the profound sorrow of losing her first husband, Evander J Lanier, along with her sons Wilbur, Wesley, Thomas, and David, and her grandson Nicholas, whose memories she carried dearly in her heart.

A visitation will be held on Monday,  April 13, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Bladen-Gaskins Funeral Home & Cremation Services, located at 3131 M.L.K. Dr, Elizabethtown, NC. The funeral service will follow on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Briar Branch Baptist Church, 42 Lula Long Rd, Elizabethtown, NC. The day will conclude with her burial at Greenlawn Memorial Park, located at 1311 Shipyard Blvd, Wilmington, NC, beginning at 3:00 PM.

Throughout her life, Betty Collum Davis remained a pillar of kindness and resilience, inspiring all who knew her with her unwavering devotion to family and community. Her spirit will remain forever etched in the hearts of those she loved and who loved her in return. She leaves behind a legacy of grace, compassion, and an enduring love that will continue to guide her family for generations to come.
