Carole Faye Burgess Stevens

Carole Faye Burgess Stevens, formally of Greensboro, NC passed away on November 20, 2025 at home surrounded by her family. She was 88. 

Carole was born October 9, 1937 in Reidsville, NC to the late Robert Wallace Burgess and Mabel Baker Burgess. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 51 years, Larry Lee Stevens.

She was an active member of Guilford College United Methodist Church in Greensboro, NC.

Carole is survived by her son Neil Murphy and wife Sarah of Elizabethtown, grandchildren Patrick Murphy (Brittany) of Knightdale, Troy Murphy(Parker) of Kill Devil Hills, Ashley Ratcliffe (Michael) of Lumberton and Meredith Aukamp (Jason Weissinger) of Elizabethtown and great grandsons Finley and Asher Murphy of Knightdale.

A graveside service will be held at Montlawn Memorial Park, 2911 S. Wilmington St., Raleigh, NC, on Friday,  November 28, 2025 at 2:00 pm.  

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent in memory of Larry and Carole Stevens to the Guilford College United Methodist Church, 1205 Fleming Road, Greensboro, NC, 27410 or the the Lower Cape Fear Lifecare, 206 Warrior Trail, Whiteville, NC 28472.
