Carolyn Peterson

Carolyn Cain Peterson, 75, of Elizabethtown, passed away on Friday, March 08, 2019. She was preceded in death by her parents: Owen and Annie Cain; husband: Marion Owen Peterson; brothers: Beatty and David Cain; sisters: Evelyn Garrett, Lois Bowman, Alta Mae Budd and Mildred Davidson. She leaves behind two sons: Frank Peterson and wife, Christy of Mt. Olive, David Peterson and wife, Edna of Dunn; one daughter: Jeanette Peterson of Elizabethtown; one sister: Elzola Padgett of Wilmington; four grandchildren: Madison Peterson, Jonathan Peterson (Alyssa), Cody Johnson, Taylor Johnson (Samantha); six great-grandchildren: Triston Peterson, Causton Peterson, Lily Peterson, Hadley Peterson, Raylen Johnson and Amery Johnson.

Carolyn adored her family and grandchildren. She was a gardener who loved flowers. She kept busy by doing crossword puzzles and keeping up with current events; always letting her family know all the news. Carolyn will be greatly missed.

The family will receive friends from 6-8pm on Tuesday, March 12th at Bladen Gaskins Funeral Home in Elizabethtown. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 13th at 3pm at Friendship Baptist Church in Garland with Rev. Gary McMillan officiating service. A burial will follow service in the church cemetery.
