Carrie Louise Thompson,93, of Pleasant Garden, North Carolina, peacefully passed away on Saturday, November 22, 2025. She was born in Columbus County on September 11, 1932, to the late Ernest Bowen and Chellie Dyson Bowen. Carrie lived a life filled with love, devotion, and vibrant memories that resonate with those who knew her.
Carrie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Billy D. Thompson; her son, Randy Dean Thompson; her brothers: Buddy Bowen, Marion Bowen, Clifton Bowen, Howard Bowen; and her sister, Irene Benton. She is survived by her loving son, Billy Dale Thompson and wife Tessie of Pleasant Garden, and her sister Addie Lee Callihan of Bladenboro, who will carry her spirit forward.
Carrie's devotion to her family was evident in her daily life. She always loved spending time with her loved ones, partaking in long conversations and joyfully sharing experiences. She had a strong commitment to her faith, frequently attending church services and enjoying meals with her church family, which brought her immense joy and a sense of community. Carrie and her sister, Addie Lee loved going places together, creating countless cherished memories.
In addition to her cherished family bonds, Carrie had varied interests that enriched her life. She enjoyed yard work, whether mowing the lawn or working diligently in her flower garden. Cooking was another passion of hers, as she delighted in preparing meals for her loved ones. In her downtime, she loved talking on the phone with her friends and watching her favorite television shows.
Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, beginning with a visitation at 11:00 AM at the Bladenboro Chapel of Bladen-Gaskins followed by a graveside service at Bullard Cemetery at 12:00 PM. She will be laid to rest, surrounded by the love she once shared so freely.
