Charles Smith

Charles Lawton Smith, age 75 of White Oak, died Thursday, April 16, 2015 at home. He is preceded in death by his parents, George Lawton Smith and Thelma Pauline Sessoms Smith; sister, Faye Smith; and brothers, Ed Smith and Carl Smith. He is survived by his wife, Gail W. Smith of the home; daughter, Lucy "Missy" Cook of White Oak; brothers, Paul Smith of White Oak and Clyde Smith and wife Teresa of Stedman; sisters, Nita Baker of Ammon, Jean Horne of White Oak, Sylvia Smith of Benson, Wanda Ray and husband Cecil of White Oak, Donna Naylor of White Oak, Hazel Smith of Clayton, Betty Holder and husband Bill of Raleigh, Judy Strickland of Fayetteville, Debbie Langdon and husband Greg of Fuquay Varina and Helen Huggins and husband Thomas of SC; 4 grandchildren, Joshua Brown and wife Anna, Maggan Brown, Edward and Garrett Cook; and 1 great grandchild, Lydia.

The family will receive friends on Friday, April 17, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. at Bladen-Gaskins Funeral Home. A service will be conducted on Saturday, April 18, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Suggs Grove Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. David Rutland and Rev. Bradley Tatum. Burial will follow at Bethlehem UMC Church Cemetery.
