Constance Waynae Nelson Wilson

Constance Waynae Nelson Wilson, age 73, of Council, NC passed away on Tuesday, September 5, 2023, at her home surrounded by family. She was born the daughter of the late Clifford Wayne Nelson and Doris Arlene Apsey Nelson on September 10, 1949 in Saginaw County, Michigan. She was preceded by her parents, her beloved husband, Harold Douglas Wilson and one son, Chadwick Wilson.

Constance is survived by her stepson Shane Wilkins (Charity) of Sneads Ferry, son-in-love Greg Soriano (Jamie) of Florida and his family, one sister Rebecca Reed of Lisbon, formerly of Michigan, three grandchildren Lucinda Edens, Marshall Wilkins (Mariah), and William Wilkins and six great grandchildren Bracey, Jaxon, Declan, Shane Charlotte, and Everette.

Constance was a retired Primary School teacher with a great love of education. As an avid reader, with a special interest in science fiction, she enjoyed traveling the world not only through books but also in real life. She also had a passion for wildlife and spent several hours watching the hummingbirds in her backyard. Constance was a loving sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Her legacy of love and learning will live on for generations to come.

Friends and family will gather to celebrate her life on Saturday, September 9, 2023 from 1-3 pm at Constance’s home, 752 Lisbon Rd, Council, NC 28434. Cards or flowers may be sent to her home or donations to the library of one’s choice.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Cape Fear Valley/Bladen County Hospital for the compassion and care given to Constance during her stay there. The staff truly went above and beyond.
