David Evers

David James "D.J." Evers, age 80, of Bladenboro, passed away on Friday, March 16, 2012. He is predeceased by his parents, Allen Evers and Ida Carroll Evers; two brothers, Hubert T. Evers and Earl Evers; and a grandchild, Eddy Dowless , III.



He is survived by his wife, Grace Edwards Evers of the home; a son, Merle Evers and wife, Cynthia, of Bladenboro; three daughters, Jan Thomas and husband, Renn Thomas, of Elizabethtown; Karen Pait and husband, Gary, of Bladenboro, and Pamela Morris and husband, Fred, of Lillington; two sisters, Kathleen Dowless of Bladenboro, and Eloise Koehler of Cedar Creek; eight grandchildren: David, Robert and Michael Evers, Timothy Thomas, Tammy Pait, Alexis Hurst, Brittiany Griffin and Hillary Brewington; seven great-grandchildren: Natalie Griffin, Caleb Griffin, Skyler Register, Christopher and Amanda Evers, and Caleb and Ethan Thomas.



The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 17, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Bladen-Gaskins Funeral Home. The service will be Sunday, March 18, at 3:00 pm at Pentecostal Faith of God Church in Lumberton with Rev. Russell Kinlaw, Sr., Rev. Luther Powell, and Rev. Andrew Smith officiating. Burial will follow at the New Pait Cemetery.
