David Lee Price Jr., of White Oak, North Carolina went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, while at Novant Health New Hanover Medical Center in Wilmington at the age of 65. He was the son of the late David Lee Price Sr. and Alberta Langston Price.
He was the beloved husband for 42 years to Melvia C. Price, proud father of Chris Price and wife Jessica of Clinton, beloved brother of Monroe Price and wife Tonia of Terry, MS, doting “PaPaw” to granddaughters, Kaylee and Layla Price, and cherished uncle to a host of nieces and nephews.
David was devoted to both his family and community. He served 26 years with the White Oak Volunteer Fire Department sometimes as the Deputy Chief and at other times the Assistant Deputy Chief. He took great pride in maintaining safety for the folks of the White Oak area. David loved the Lord and faithfully served as deacon for 17 years in his home church at White Oak Baptist. He enjoyed spending time with his family spoiling his grandbabies, attending church or finding a car show to proudly display his muscle car. His other passions were Martial Arts, guns and collecting knives. David leaves behind shoes no one else will fill but memories of love, laughter and joy that will live on in the hearts of all that knew and loved him dearly.
The family will receive friends on Monday, July 13, 2026, from 12-1:30 pm at the White Oak Baptist Church with a funeral service immediately following at 1:30 pm with the Reverend Danny Lewis officiating. Burial will follow the services in the church cemetery.
