Dennis Johnson

Dennis Erwin Johnson, age 78 of Elizabethtown, died Monday, July 9, 2012 at home. He is preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Rosa Watson Johnson; a brother, Glenn Allen Johnson; and three sisters Lela Bell Johnson, Elsie Lou Batts and Rosa Marlene Brisson. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.



He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Janice Johnson of the home; a son, Dale Johnson and wife Bernadette of Burgaw; a daughter, Becky Brantley and husband David of Rocky Mount; two brothers, Walter Johnson of Jacksonville and E.C. Johnson of Ivanhoe; and four granddaughters, Allison, Melissa, Emilee and Olivia.



The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 10, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bladen-Gaskins Funeral Home. A private graveside service will be held at Johnson Family Cemetery Wednesday July 11, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. A memorial service will be conducted on Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Wesley\\'s Chapel United Methodist Church officiated by Rev. Eckie Lancaster and Rev. Dusty Sprouse.
