Dewey Herbert Bridger, Jr. was born on January 17th, 1930 in Bladenboro, NC. and died on November 17th, 2025 He was the son of the late Dr. and Mrs. Dewey H Bridger.

Dewey was very active within the Bladenboro community, which he loved so much. He was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church, where he served several terms as a Deacon. He also sang in the choir for many years and he taught Sunday School as well. His most recent connection to his church family was through his small group bible study, that brought him so much joy when they met regularly at the Millpond.

He was a director of the Bladenboro Cotton Mills and served as a board member for the former Bank of Bladenboro.
He was very active in conservation practices for wildlife and was a true outdoorsman. Dewey was an avid tennis player, great hunter, but his true passion was his love for fishing; as he spent countless hours on the pond fishing with his sons, friends and grandchildren. He was such an amazing father, father-in-law, and grandfather. He loved his family to no end and set such a fine example of what a good Christian is. He read his Bible daily and lived a humble life, while always giving freely of all that he had been blessed with. His beautiful smile, kind nature, and intentional hugs will be deeply missed.
