Dorothy Allen

Dorothy Butler Allen, age 85 of Tar Heel, died on Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at home. She is preceded in death by her parents, Walter Livius and Ella Dowless Butler; seven brothers, Harvey, Velton, Norman, Emory, Charlie, Jettie, and Morris Butler. She is survived by her husband of sixty-five years, Charles Jefferson Allen; two daughters, Cindy Allen Sanderson and husband William of Fayetteville and Judy Beth Allen of London, England; two grandchildren, William Allen Sanderson and wife Allison of Charlotte, and Christopher Scott Sanderson of Fayetteville.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 31, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bladen-Gaskins Funeral Home. Services will be conducted on Friday, August 1, 2014 at Tar Heel Baptist Church at 11:00 a.m. officiated by Dr. Mack Roberts and Rev. Warren Hill. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
