Edgar Hewitt

Edgar Blake Hewitt Jr., 86, of Bladenboro passed away Monday, March 26, 2018. He is preceded in death by his parents Edgar and Moddie Hewitt, his wife Betty Rich Hewitt and two sons: Kenneth Blake Hewitt and Donald Hewitt.

Edgar was a devoted husband, father and "PaPa Junior". He loved Southern Gospel Music, playing the piano and preaching the Gospel. Edgar worked at Bladenboro Cotton Mill for 35 years. He leaves behind two sons: Harold Hewitt (Delma) of Leland; and Richard Hewitt (Deborah) of Bladenboro; one daughter: Sheryl Gurganus (Kent) of Clarendon; one sister: Jerri Evans of Ash; seven grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Thursday, March 29th at Bladen Gaskins Funeral Home in Elizabethtown. A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 30th at 2 pm at Bladen Gaskins with Rev. Charlie Tatum officiating. Burial will follow the services in the Lewis Cemetery in Bladenboro.
