Ernest Wilson Bryan, 96, of Dublin, NC has gone on to be with his Lord, Jesus Christ on Thursday, June 10, 2026, at 3:52 pm at the Lower Cape Fear Lifecare in Whiteville. Born April 22, 1930, in Bladenboro, NC to the late Joseph Needham Bryan and Sadie Bryan.
He spent two years in the United States Army stationed in Germany during the Korean War Conflict. He retired from Litton Systems in Los Angeles, CA and from the Yell County AR Road Department. While in Arkansas, Mr. Bryan operated a chicken laying house farm and served 52 years as a Mason of the Grand Lodge in Briggsville Arkansas.
Mr. Bryan was a man of deep and sincere faith and a witness for Jesus wherever he went. His greatest love and work were his service for the Lord for over 70 years. He served in multiple capacities including teacher, deacon and pastor of the Wing Community Church in Wing, Arkansas. In 2003, he married Annie Grace Roberts King and moved back to North Carolina where he joined Bethel Church and served as Sunday School teacher for the adult men. He was also a member of the visitation team for several years. Later he freely served as pastor of Pleasant Grove Independent Church. Mr. Bryan always went where the Lord led him and allowed him to use him for the kingdom’s work.
He is preceded in death by Marjorie Gray Bryan, mother of his children, by his second wife, Annie Grace Roberts Bryan, siblings Dewey Bryan, Clyde Bryan and wife Helen, sister Maryleen Bryan Pait, and stepson Donald King.
Left to cherish his memory are son Bruce Bryan and wife Charlotte of Russellville, AR, son Bob Bryan of Wing, AR, grandson, 1st SG Robert Bryan of Clarksville, TN, the children of Annie Grace: Charles King, Jerry King, David King, Tammie Melson and Eric King.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 13, 2026, from 10-10:45 am at Bethel Baptist Church in Dublin with a funeral service following at 11:00 am with Dr. Mack Roberts officiating. Burial will follow the services in the Archie Roberts Cemetery in Bladenboro.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of Lower Cape Fear Lifecare in Whiteville for their excellent care during his final days. Their support and kindness have been a blessing during this difficult time.
