Essie Raye Gardner, 92, of Clarkton passed away on Saturday, February 20, 2016. She is preceded in death by her husband, Zeb Vance Gardner. She is survived by her daughter, JoAnn Gardner Phillips of Whiteville; one grandchild, Sonya Stevens Roberts of Clarkton; two step-grandchildren, Dianna Butler of Chadbourn and Shannon Vinson of Virginia; eleven great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 25, 2016 at Clarkton Cemetery.
