Gerald Steven McGregor, affectionately known as "Peewee," passed away on February 5, 2025, at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville. Born on September 12, 1965, in Fort Gordon, Georgia, Gerald lived a life marked by resilience and deep connection to his loved ones.
His memory will be cherished by his family, including his devoted mother, Nellie New McGregor; his sister, Linda Garner and her husband David of South Carolina; and his brother, Darrell McGregor. He is also survived by his nieces Amanda Bailey and her husband Danny, as well as Valorie Garner. Gerald took joy in the lives of his great nephews, Elijah Bailey, Levi Bailey, and Asher Bailey, whose laughter and spirit he adored.
Gerald joins those who have preceded him in death, including his father, Gerald R. McGregor, and his brother, Gary Timothy McGregor. Their memory will forever hold a special place within the hearts of all who knew and loved them.
Peewee had a genuine love for all animals! Duke was PeeWee's faithful companion for 18 years. Where one was so was the other. Peewee was a NASCAR fanatic! He enjoyed going to the races, watching the races and collecting NASCAR memorabilia. Another one of his favorite spots was the pool hall. He has shot pool since high school. But most of all, PeeWee loved spending time with his friends, his “Ride or Die” buddies. It was inevitable whenever they were together an adventure was to be had!
Gerald Steven McGregor will be remembered for his kindness, warmth, and the love he spread to those around him. His legacy will continue on through the lives he touched, and he will be greatly missed.
A celebration of Peewee's life will be held in the Bladen-Gaskins Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at 3 o'clock in the afternoon.
