Horace Ronnie Hester

Horace Ronnie Hester, 80, of Bladenboro, passed away on Monday, June 8, 2026. He was born on March 22, 1946, to the late Horace Cade Hester and Juanita Bledsoe Hester.

In addition to his parents, Ronnie was preceded in death by his sister, Sylvia Horton.

Ronnie was a devoted family man who cherished every moment spent with those he loved. He enjoyed working at the Feed and Garden Center and Pineland Milling, where he made many lasting friendships over the years. When he was not at the feed store, Ronnie could often be found hunting, fishing, or traveling to new places.

Ronnie was a man of many talents and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He will be remembered for his hardworking spirit, kind heart, and love for his family and friends. His presence brought comfort and joy to those around him, and his memory will be treasured by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife Rebecca Hester and nephew Marcus Gurkin of the home; son, Ronald C. Hester of Bladenboro; daughter, Holly Cline and husband Zac of Bladenboro; brother, Alexander Hester and wife, India of Bladenboro and their daughter Kaley Cardenas and husband Adriel, sister-in-law, Anne Gurkin. Five grandchildren, Brooks Hester, Brittany Hester, Jodi Hester, Emily Hester and Cayden Hester. three great grandchildren, Noah Hester, Trevor Ezell, and Rylee Grooms along with three extended family members, their exchange students, Marie Lenoble and Sigaline Fayard of Paris France, and Luke Mullins of Belgium.

Ronnie leaves behind a legacy of love, dedication, and friendship that will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and friends.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 13, 2026 from 5-7 pm at Bladen Gaskins Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 3 pm on Sunday, June 14, 2026 at the Community Baptist Church in Bladenboro. Burial will follow the services in the church cemetery.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
