James Worth Thompson, Jr., age 58 of Elizabethtown, died Saturday, April 18, 2015. He is preceded in death by his father, James Worth Thompson Sr. and a son Joseph Lane Thompson. He is survived by his mother, Elsie Stevens Thompson; sons, Jamie Thompson and wife Brandie of Elizabethtown and Jake Thompson of Goldsboro; sisters, Linda Transou of Marion, Louise Britt and husband Roger of Fayetteville, Faye Aiken and husband Harold of Plantation FL, Carolyn Hill and husband Henry of Elizabethtown, Barbara Driggers and husband Bob of Rockingham; granddaughter, Hannah Grace and many nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
James was a businessman in Elizabethtown for over 39 years . He was much loved by everyone and had a great love for each and every one.
The family will receive friends on Monday, April 20, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. at Bladen-Gaskins Funeral Home. A service will be conducted on Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Elizabethtown Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Warren Hill, Rev. Cameron McGill, and Rev. Kincy Barrow. Burial will follow at Bladen Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Elizabethtown Christian Academy, 1800 West Broad Street, Elizabethtown NC 28337.
