Jeffrey Thonton

Jeffrey Lynn Thornton, 49, beloved son, brother, uncle and friend to so many, suddenly but peacefully passed away at home on Sunday, December 5, 2021 in his sleep. Jeff was a lifelong resident of Newport News, VA, born and raised on Deep Creek Road.

Jeff was preceded in death by his mother, Cletis Ann Thornton and is survived by his father, John Wesley Thornton, Sr., 80; two brothers, John Jr. (Sandie) and Jamie, both of Newport News and two nephews, Dylan and Mason of York County.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m., on Friday, December 10, 2021 at Weymouth Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home by Pastor Ray Sloane. A Graveside Service will take place at 12 Noon on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at Carvers Creek Methodist Church Cemetery in Council, NC. Arrangements by Weymouth Funeral Home.
