Jimmy Harrell “Pete” Batton of Bladenboro, NC went home to be with Jesus on Saturday, May 24, 2025. Pete was the son of the late Daniel Harrison Batton and Jettie Evers Batton of Bladenboro, NC. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Bandie Pait Batton, two sons, Ryan Batton (Crystal) and Brian Batton (Caitlin), a daughter, Jennifer Bryan (Anthony), three brothers, Danny Batton, Bobby Batton (Ginger) and Harry Batton (Mary), six grandchildren, Hayden, Nicole, Whitney, Everly, Afton, Cheyenne and eight great-grandchildren.
Pete loved the Lord, his family and his church. He dedicated his life to serving others. Pete served on Dublin Volunteer Fire Department for 33 years in various positions to include Chief and Deputy Chief. He was a devoted and active member of Dublin First Baptist Church. Before retiring, Pete worked at Elkay Southern Corporation in Lumberton NC as a tool-and-die mechanic. His contributions to his church and community are immeasurable. Pete touched the lives of those who knew him and he will be greatly missed.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Friday, May 30, 2025 at the Dublin First Baptist Family Life Care Center in Dublin, NC. A funeral service is planned for Saturday, May 31, 2025 at the Dublin First Baptist Family Life Care Center at 2 pm with Pastor Jason Lee and Pastor Eric Melvin officiating.
