Jimmy "Fish" Lewis, Sr.

Jimmy “Fish” Lewis, Sr.,75, of Elizabethtown went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 22, 2026. He was born and raised in Bladen County, the son of the late Willie B. Lewis and Martha Register. He is also preceded by three siblings, Eloise Butler, Willie C. Lewis, and Tommy Lewis.

As a young boy, Jimmy worked at the City Seafood Market and later in life became affectionately known as “The Car Wash Man”. He was the owner and operator of The Car Wash business located in the center of the town of Elizabethtown since 1994. Jimmy always went above and beyond to offer pick-up or delivery services for several businesses and clients in town, as well as those who were shut in and could not come into the business. He always delivered service with a smile and often with a fresh peach or other produce in hand.

Everyone knew three things about Jimmy, he always drove a Ford, he was a big fan of NASCAR racing, and his grandson Luke was the apple of his eye. One could often see him passing through in his white Ford truck or his mustang. He was a simple man with a heart of gold. His compassion for others and his cheerful disposition will certainly be missed by all that had the pleasure of knowing him.

Jimmy was the devoted husband to Jann Lewis of the home, proud father of Jimmy Lewis II of Elizabethtown, doting grandfather of one grandson, Luke Bordeaux, and beloved brother of Hurbert Lewis and wife Patsy of Elizabethtown. He was also a proud uncle to several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service is planned for Wednesday, August 26th at 11:00 am.
