John Christopher Guyton, 61, of Elizabethtown passed away peacefully on Friday, October 30, 2026, while at Lower Cape Fear Lifecare Center in Whiteville. He was born and raised in Bladen County the son of the late Herbert Guyton and Evelyn Nunnery Guyton. He was preceded also in death by siblings David Guyton and Judy Suggs, nephew Brad McCall and Brian Blanks. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 10 years, Cindy Guyton of the home, one sister-in-law Sharon Guyton and several nieces and nephews.
John was a hardworking, innovative man. He was known for his ability to fix just about anything he set his hands on, and nothing pleased him more than to be at home working on an engine of sorts, whether automotive or lawn equipment. John spent several years working with the Department of Transportation and with the White Oak Baptist Church renovating the old White Oak Gymnasium. When not working, he enjoyed spending time with the loves of his life, Cindy and his fur babies or in the great outdoors hunting or fishing. John will always be remembered for his creativity, his dedication and his compassionate spirit.
A Celebration of his life will be held on Thursday, November 5, 2026, at 4 pm at the White Oak Baptist Church in White Oak with the Reverend Danny Lewis officiating.
