John Smith

John Thompson Smith, age 81 of Bladenboro, died Saturday, March 7, 2015 at home. He is preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Ann Groom Smith, and a brother, Lynn Smith. He is survived by his wife, Glenda McLean Smith of the home; sons, John Thompson Smith, Jr and wife Debbie of Hillsborough, Don Smith of Kenley, David Smith and wife Sheila of Spotsylvania, VA and step-son, Joey Brisson of Ammon; daughter, Suzanne Ellis of Wilmington and step-daughter, Beth Andrews and husband Rev. Darren Andrews of Bladenboro; a sister Janet Wolf and husband Terry of Delaware; grandchildren, Justin Smith Ryan Smith, Shea Smith, Deanne Ellis, Marla Ellis; two step-grandchildren, Kelly Pittman and husband Travis and Adam Andrews; and great step- grandchildren, Bryson, Mary Beth, Alyssa, Hailii and Audrie.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 8, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bladen-Gaskins Funeral Home. Services will be held on Monday, March 9, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Bladen-Gaskins Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Rev. Darren Andrews. Burial will follow at Galeed Baptist Church Cemetery.
