With heartfelt sorrow, we announce the passing of John Davis Taylor, who departed this life at the age of 76. John was born on May 16, 1949, and lived a life defined by faith, hard work, and devotion to family.
John was raised by his father, Clarence Taylor, whose guidance and example helped shape the man John would become. From an early age, he learned the values of hard work, responsibility, perseverance, and integrity--principles that guided him throughout his life. A man of profound courage, John honorably served his country as a Green Beret in the United States Army.
John was a man of strong faith in God, which directed his actions and shaped his character. He believed deeply in honesty, dedication, and doing what was right. Known for his tireless work ethic, John took pride in building a life rooted in service to others.
An entrepreneur at heart, John founded CLC Financial Services, where he worked with commitment and care. He also enjoyed working with the family's agricultural ventures, beginning with Taylor's Blueberry and later Taylor's Pecan Company, pursuits that reflected both his work ethic and appreciation for agriculture.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Taylor and Betty Crenshaw Taylor, as well as his sister, Lois Gilmore.
John was a devoted husband, loving father, and proud grandfather. He is survived by his beloved wife, Angelia Taylor, and his children: Jeanna Taylor Smith (Chris Smith), Jacquelyn Taylor Croom (Bert Croom), Chasity Taylor Shaver (Jeremy Shaver), Jonathan Taylor, and Desmond Taylor. He is also survived by his brother, Eugene Rackel (Michael Rackel) and sister, Pinckie Robinson (Charles Robinson). His legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren: Colton, Melissa, Savannah, Alana, Mason, Baylen, Kahnr, and Preston, and his treasured great-grandchild, Seraphina, all of whom brought great joy to his life.
The family will receive friends from 1-2:45pm on Saturday, February 28th at Pleasant Grove Independent Church in Bladenboro. A funeral service will immediately follow at 3pm with Darryl Dowless officiating the service. Burial will follow services in the Community Baptist Church Cemetery in Bladenboro.
"For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord's." Romans 14:8 (KJV)
Though John Davis Taylor has departed this earthly life, his legacy of faith, dedication, and love will continue to live on through his family and all who were blessed to know him.
