John Davis Taylor, a respected member of Bladen County, passed away on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at the age of 76. Born on May 16, 1949, in Robeson County, he was a beloved son of the late Clarence Taylor and Elizabeth "Betty" Crenshaw Taylor. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Lois Gilmore.
John is survived by his devoted wife, Angelia Taylor, who was by his side throughout their years together. He was a proud father to his sons: Jonathan Taylor of Wilmington and Desmond Taylor of Fayetteville, as well as to his daughters: Jeanna Taylor Smith (Christopher) of St. Petersburg, FL, Jacquelyn Taylor Croom (Robert) of Wilmington, and Chasity Shaver (Jeremy) of Eastover. His legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren: Alana, Savannah, Melissa, Baylen, Colton, Mason, Kahnr, and Preston, along with his great-grandchild, Seraphina.
John's life was marked by his strong ties to family and community. He will be remembered for his warm spirit and gentle demeanor, touching the lives of all who knew him.
The family will receive friends from 1-2:45pm on Saturday, February 28th at Pleasant Grove Church in Bladenboro. A funeral service will immediately follow at 3pm with Darryl Dowless officiating the service. Burial will follow services in the Community Baptist Church Cemetery in Bladenboro.
