Kathy Jean Meares Maynor

Kathy Jean Meares Maynor, 73, of Dublin, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 5, 2025, at the Cape Fear Valley-Bladen County Hospital in Elizabethtown. She was born on August 14, 1952, in Bladen County, to the late Weldon Meares and Ida McLemore Johnson.

Kathy was preceded in death by her beloved parents; her husband; Henry Howard Maynor; her son, Scott Hardee; her daughter, Katherine Ann Hardee; her grandson, Dylan Hardee; and her brother, Andy Meares.

Kathy is survived by her sister, Barbara Meares Bedsole and husband Jake; grandson, Donovan Sellers; sister-in-law, Bobbie Jean Meares; great-grandson, Axel Brand; as well as nephews, Anthony Meares and wife Shannon, and Allen Bedsole and wife Sabrina. She is also survived by nieces Kristy Meares Hall and husband Tony, and Melissa Bedsole Lockamy, along with several great-nieces and nephews who will remember her fondly.

Kathy was known for her kind and welcoming personality, always eager to spend quality time with her loved ones, particularly her grandson. She cherished every moment spent with family, creating lasting memories that will be held dear long after her passing. Kathy's interests included sitting on her porch, exploring her love for color, traveling, shopping and enjoying the warmth of Christmas celebrations.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM on Monday, September 8, 2025, at the Singletary Church in Dublin followed by a Celebration of Life service at 11:00 AM. Reverend Al Marshburn will be officiating the service.

Kathy will be remembered not only for her loving spirit but also for the ways in which she brought joy and inspiration to those around her. Her legacy of warmth, kindness, and love remains forever in the hearts of her family and friends.
