Larry Jernigan

Larry Ted Jernigan "Cornbread", 73, of Elizabethtown passed away Tuesday, October 4, 2016. He is preceded in death by his parents Noah and Mary Jernigan and one infant brother Harry Ned. Larry was survived by his wife Lucille Jernigan of the home, two daughters: Teressa Jenigan-Byrd and Roger Byrd of Rockingham and Tammy Jackson and husband Johnnie of White Lake; two brothers: Bobby Jernigan and wife Angel of Fayetteville and Wayne Jernigan and wife Brenda of Lumberton; three sisters: Nell Grimley and husband Chris of Virginia; Ruby Werschem and husband Harold of Spring Lake, MI; and Doris Stachowski and husband Ski of Virginia; two grandchildren: Jonathan McLaughlin and fiancé Taylor and Brandon Davis, one great grandchild Mason Mclaughlin and his loving canine companion Trey.
Larry was a hardworking, supportive, and very giving man who loved his family dearly. He never met a stranger and always looked for the best in people. He will be missed by all those that knew and loved him.
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at 11 am at Beards Chapel Baptist Church in Garland, NC. Rev. Barry Helms, Rev. Ralph Carter Jr., and Dean Thomas will be officiating the service. Burial will follow the services in the church cemetery.
