Leslie Elaine Hill, 53, of Tar Heel passed away peacefully at home on Monday, October 27, 2025.
She was the beloved daughter of Hilda E. Hill of the home, Billy Hill of Monroe, loving sister to Reverend Warren Hill (Deanna) of Dublin, and Lisa Pippin (Frank) of Waxhaw, adored aunt to Joseph Davenport (Lee Ann), Matthew Hill (Caroline), Jessica Davis (Daniel), Seth Pippin, Braelyn Pippin, and Sarah Mae Pippin, and cherished great aunt to Garrett Davenport, Dylan Davenport, Sadie Hill, Sawyer Davis, Sully Davis, and Gus Hill.
Leslie spent her whole life in Bladen County being loved and cared for by her dear mother and best friend, Hilda. Even though she could not speak true words, she and her mother had their own means of communicating with each other. No one knew her better and everyone knew Leslie ruled the roost. She had a passion for music and traveled nowhere without her headphones. She enjoyed watching sports, especially basketball and football and Family Feud. She also loved to ride in the car but never without the same routine, always had to have the keys in hand first and socks and shoes were not necessary. They were always removed once she was seated for the ride. Her favorite foods were cheese pizza and Little Debbie Nutty bars with a glass of tea. She always made sure to grab a box if taken down the snack aisle at the store. Leslie had a way of bringing pure joy and sunshine to everyone she met. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all that knew and loved her and her “Little Light” will shine continuously.
The family will receive friends from 10 -11 am on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at Tar Heel Baptist Church in Tar Heel with a funeral service immediately following at 11:00 am with Reverend Tommy Puryear and Reverend Warren Hill officiating. Burial will follow the services in the Tar Heel Baptist Church Cemetery.
