Lester Litchfield Smith, Jr., affectionately known as “Milton”, of Bladenboro passed away peacefully at his home at the age of 81. He joined the ones gone before him, parents, Lester Litchfield Smith and Bessie McKeithan Smith, sister Luvane Formyduval and brother Robert “Squeaky” Smith.
He leaves behind his adoring wife, Rosie Blackmon Smith of the home, daughter Lachelle Smith Urbina (Ricardo) of Lumberton, two grandchildren April Jernigan-Johansen (Chad) and Blake Inman, four great grandchildren Landon Rhoads, Ella Johansen, Noah Johansen and McKynleigh Inman, and two special friends, Corey Richardson and Glenn Brisson.
Milton was a hard worker and good provider for his family. His home was his ‘happy place’ for he enjoyed being there with family, watching the New York Yankees, Roy Rogers Westerns or Audie Murphy. He will be remembered most for his wonderful sense of humor, his devotion to his loved ones, and the love he so freely gave to each of them.
The family will receive friends on Friday, April 18, 2025, from 6-8 pm at the New Light Church in Bladenboro. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2025 at 2 pm at New Light Church with Pastor Dale Hester and Pastor Bobby Smith officiating. Burial will follow the services in the Singletary Cemetery off Old Boardman Road in Bladenboro.
