Luke Sykes

Luke "Bill" Edward Sykes,76, of Bladenboro NC, entered into eternal rest Friday, February 11, 2011.



He is preceded in death by his parents. Henry Sykes and Addie Packer Sykes; one daughter, Delores "Effie" Strickland; a granddaughter, Leigh Ann Richardson; three brothers, Raymond, Oscar, and Ernest Sykes; and one sister, Ruby McLamb.



He is survived by his wife, Annie Merle Sykes of the home; one son, Greg Sykes and wife, Amanda, of Bladenboro; one daughter, Lynn Hester and husband, Bobby of Bladenboro; two brothers, Harvey Sykes and Earl Sykes, both of Bladenboro; one sister, Shirley Jackson of Windsor; five grandchildren, Brian and Eric Strickland, Sherri Hester, Blake and Kaitlyn Sykes; nine great-grandchildren, Jenny Richardson, Brook, Wesley and Gavin Strickland, Nathan, Christian, Dee Dee and Rachel Strickland, and Colin Elkins;





The family will receive friends Sunday, February 13, at Butters Baptist Church Fellowship Hall from 2:00 until 3:00 pm.



Services will be Sunday, February 13, at Butters Baptist Church at 3:00 pm with Rev. Clyde Coates and Rev. Rick Rigney officiating. Burial will follow at Singletary Cemetery, Butters, NC
