Margaret Guyton Baxley

Ms. Margaret Guyton Baxley of Bladenboro passed away on Monday, August 25, 2025, at the age of 91. She was born and raised in Bladen County the daughter of the late Benny Guyton and Sadie Pait Guyton. She was also preceded in death by her dear husband Lyle Clayton Baxley and her siblings.

Ms. Baxley was a hard worker by nature; she assisted her husband with the family farm as well as tending to her children. She always put others needs before her own and often did without so her children could have. She loved to listen to music and spend time with her family. Her grandchildren especially enjoyed dancing around the house with her and always felt she was the “fun grandma”. Ms. Baxley will always be remembered for her genuine concern for others, her sense of humor and her unconditional love.

She leaves behind her children, Lyle “Tony” Baxley (Velma), Larry Clayton Baxley (Tammy), Lyla Baxley West (Glenn), all of Bladenboro and Laurel Jane Rich (Daniel) of Garland, 12 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 10-11 am on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at the Bladenboro Chapel of Bladen Gaskins in Bladenboro immediately followed by a Celebration of Life service at 11:00 am with the Reverend Daniel Rich officiating.
