Mary Belle Hester, age 89, of Clarkton, died Saturday, November 26, 2011 at Liberty HomeCare and Hospice in Whiteville.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Hoyt McQueen and Nannie Belle Bass McQueen; husband, Joseph Leland Hester, Sr; four brothers Larue, Rogers, Herbert, Nadine McQueen; and one sister, Quessie Gooden.
She is survived by three sons, Joseph \\"Joe\\" Leland Hester, Jr. and wife Sarah Lincoln of Aurora CO, Timothy \\"Tim\\" Hester of Cocoa Beach FL, Jeffrey \\"Jeff\\" Hester of Osaka Japan; one sister, Nell Haldeman of Spruce Pines; and two grandchildren, Nicole and Cory Hester.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 27, 2011 from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Clarkton Presbyterian Church. The service will begin at 3:00 p.m. followed by burial in Clarkton Cemetery. Services will be officiated by Rev. Stuart Link.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
