Mary Elizabeth Williams

Mary Elizabeth Williams passed away peacefully on Friday, November 28, 2025, at the age of 78, at Bladen-East Health & Rehab in Elizabethtown. Born on July 21, 1947, in Columbus County, Mary lived a life filled with grace and humility, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew her.

Mary was a woman who faced many hardships throughout her life but always triumphed through her infectious spirit and unwavering faith. She embodied a deep love for her family, dedicating herself wholeheartedly to their well-being and happiness. Her memories of childhood were rich with joy, and she cherished the connections she made over the years, particularly her fondness for Clarkton. Mary regularly reached out to inquire about those from her hometown, reflecting her caring nature and sense of community.

A devoted follower of the Lord, Mary's faith was the cornerstone of her existence. Her optimistic outlook was beautifully captured in her cherished saying: "When I am gone from here I will be dancing on the streets of gold." This sentiment not only highlights her deep spirituality but also serves as a profound testament to her belief in a brighter afterlife.

The family will receive friends from 1-1:45pm on Sunday, November 30th at Bladen-Gaskins Funeral Home in Elizabethtown with a funeral service beginning at 2pm. Reverend Charlie Tatum will officiate the service. Burial will follow in the Brown Marsh Church Cemetery in Clarkton.
