Mary Carolyn Lewis McPhatter

Mary Carolyn Lewis McPhatter, 87, of Elizabethtown went home to be with the Lord on Monday, July 14, 2025, while at West Bladen Assisted Living in Bladenboro. She was beloved daughter of the late Ray F. Lewis and Carrie B. Davis Lewis, the devoted wife to late husbands, Reverend Lindy Long and Albert McPhatter and loving sister to several predeceased siblings.

Mary was a social butterfly who loved to share the love of the Lord and stories of her childhood days. She was an active pastor’s wife while her husband Lindy was living and later became an active member at Wesley’s Chapel until her health deteriorated. At other times she worked as a manager over the seafood department of Winn Dixie. Mary had a love for Elvis, a passion for traveling and a dedication to both her family and her savior. She leaves this world with an eternal light of friendship, love and laughter that will shine on forever more.

Left to cherish her memory are brother, Glynn Lee Lewis and wife Carol of the Live Oak Community and a host of nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, July 17, 2025, at 10:00 am in the Allen Cemetery in Dublin, North Carolina.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of West Bladen Assisted Living and Gentiva Hospice for the devoted care, compassion and support given during Mary's stay with them.
