Mary Thomas

Mary Merritt Thomas, 95, of Elizabethtown entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, February 2, 2010. She was born in Bladen County on September 9, 1914 to the late Gaston and Ida Giddons Merritt.



The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 3, 2010 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Bladen-Gaskins Funeral Home

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, February 4, 2010 at 3:00 pm at White Lake Baptist Church with Rev. Walter Hayes and Dr. Bill Young officiating. Burial will follow at Marshburn Cemetery at White Lake



She was preceded in death by her parents, Gaston and Ida Giddons Merritt; her husband, John Douglas Thomas; one son, Albert Thomas and one daughter, Doris Grey Thomas



She is survived by three sons, Bennett Thomas, John Thomas and Harold Thomas all of Elizabethtown; one daughter, Willia Dean Butler of Elizabethtown; one sister, Norma Merritt of Elizabethtown; twelve grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild.
