Mary Treadaway

Mary Geneva Squires Treadaway, 89, of Elizabethtown passed away on Monday, August 17, 2020. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Treadaway. Mary leaves behind her daughter, Deborah Derden and husband Don of Alpine, Texas; sister, Judy Hooper of Wilmington, NC; sister-in-law, Bernice Long of Ocoee, Florida; two grandchildren: Cameron DeWitt Derden and Mandalay Jael Derden.

Mary was a schoolteacher for 30 plus years in San Antonio, Texas where she taught over 1,000 children to read. She received her Master’s at New Orleans Southern Baptist Seminary where she met her husband, Clarence.

A graveside service will be held at 10am on Thursday, August 20th in the Natmore Baptist Church Cemetery in Kelly, NC.
