Melva Jackson

Melva Ann Jones Jackson, 78, of Elizabethtown passed away on Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at the Elizabethtown Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born on September 17, 1943 to the late Raymond Price Jones and Pauline Lanier Jones. She is survived by her son, Matthew Jackson (Ryan) of Evergreen, daughter, Tammy Jackson of Elizabethtown, three sisters, Weida Wilber of Florida, Helen Johnson of Blue Field, and Fridea Skinner of Elizabethtown, four grandchildren, Kimberly Jackson, Scottie Jackson, Heaven Stocker, and Marcus Jackson and two great grandchildren, Evelyn and Raelyn Dent. Melva was preceded by her parents and her husband, Buck Jackson.

Melva cherished her family and looked forward to anytime she could get together with them. Her children were her life, but those grandchildren stole her heart. She enjoyed fishing, sewing, cooking, and doing word searches. She could often be found listening to gospel music and reading God’s word. Melva was loved by many and will be dearly missed.

The family will receive friends from 1-2 pm on Saturday, August 20th at Bladen Gaskins Funeral Home in Elizabethtown followed by a funeral service at 2 pm with Rev. Charlie Tatum officiating. At other times, the family will receive friends at the home of Tammy Jackson, 600 Mercer Mill Rd, Apt. 11 C, Elizabethtown, NC 28337.
