Michael Grey Langley, age 64, of North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina passed away Thursday, September 25, 2025, at Grand Strand Hospital in Myrtle Beach with the love of his life, Rhonda Atkinson, by his side. He was born February 2, 1961, in Bladenboro, North Carolina to the late Rev. and Mrs. George Langley. Michael is survived by his devoted partner, Rhonda Atkinson, with whom he shared almost two decades of life filled with love, laughter, and happiness. In addition, Michael is survived by a sister, Georgia Moore (Bob); a brother, William Langley (Sherry); Rhonda’s daughter, Ashly Ely, and her husband, Trae Ely, and two children, Meredith and Lawson; and a son, Michael Shane Langley, his fiancé, Jaimie Leighann Locklear, and her daughter, Kinzley Rae Locklear.
Michael was a graduate of Bladenboro High School and Pembroke State University. He was employed with NICCA U.S.A., Inc., a chemical manufacturing company that is a subsidiary of a Japanese specialty chemical manufacturer. Michael was well-known in his work for providing customized solutions as he was frequently traveling to provide close customer support.
When not working, Michael enjoyed golf, dancing, and watching sports. In fact, it was his love of dancing that first brought Rhonda and Michael together, and the two could oftentimes be found Shagging on that special backroom dance floor at Fat Harolds. Tar Heel basketball was his favorite, and then Gamecock football became a way of life with him as he became an avid Gamecock fan.
For those who knew Michael he will be remembered for that sweet smile, that genuine desire to show empathy for others, and his unwavering desire to spread love and kindness to everyone he encountered. He had a rare gift of making others smile and laugh. Friends especially liked to see his eyes light up when he talked about visits from Meredith and Lawson. Meredith was his “Princess” and Lawson was his “Hotshot”. Another love of his life was his fur baby, Abbey, who had also owned a part of his heart for 12 years.
Michael was a lifetime member of Abbottsburg Baptist Church in Bladenboro, North Carolina, where his father served as minister for many years. He currently attended First Baptist Church of North Myrtle Beach.
