Michael LaGrand “Mike” Skipper, 77, of White Lake, NC, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2026. Mike was a proud Vietnam War veteran who loved his country, his family, and his faith. He loved Jesus and lived his life with a generous heart, always willing to help anyone in need. Mike would go to the ends of the earth for the people he loved.
He enjoyed fishing, playing golf, grilling, and spending time with his family and friends. In his younger years, he loved going shagging and spending time dancing and laughing with friends. He also enjoyed watching NASCAR and staying informed on politics. Mike had a hilarious personality and was known for saying the funniest and most unexpected things that would leave everyone around him laughing. His humor, kindness, and generosity made him someone people naturally gravitated toward. More than anything, Mike loved his family and friends deeply. He was incredibly loyal and would do anything to help the people he loved. He adored his dogs, “the girls,” and cherished the time he spent with them, and his greatest joy was being surrounded by the people who meant the most to him.
He is survived by his loving wife, Jackie Skipper; his son, Michael Skipper and wife Megan, and his cherished granddaughter, Paisley; and his daughter, Kaycie Skipper and her significant other, Ty Watkins.
Mike will be remembered for his humor, generosity, deep faith, and the tremendous love he had for his family and friends. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
A life well lived and a man deeply loved.
