Milciades Ortiz

Milciades Ortiz, 74, of Elizabethtown passed away on Wednesday, August 13, 2025 while at UNC Chapel Hill. He was preceded in death by his parents, Isaias Ortiz and Anadehina Hernandez Ortiz.

Milciades was a devoted husband to his dear wife, Flora Ortiz of the home, proud father to his son Nelson David Ortiz (Tonya) of Cerro Gordo, and loving grandfather to his grandchildren Austin David Ortiz, Lucius Exavier Ortiz and great grandson, Jessie David Ortiz. He loved spending time with his family whether they were outdoors, watching tv or traveling.

Milciades will always be remembered fondly for his dedication and compassion that he gave to everyone and everything he did in this life.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 24, 2025, from 1:30 pm to 3:15 pm at the Bladen Gaskins Funeral Home in Elizabethtown with a funeral service immediately following at 3:30 pm. Burial will follow the services in the Bladen Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Elizabethtown.

Milciades fue un esposo devoto de su querida esposa, Flora Ortiz, de la casa, un padre orgulloso de su hijo Nelson David Ortiz (Tonya), residente de Cerro Gordo, y un abuelo cariñoso de sus nietos Austin David Ortiz, Lucius Exavier Ortiz y su bisnieto Jessie David Ortiz. La familia recibirá a sus amigos el domingo 24 de agosto de 2025, de 13:30 a 15:15 h, en la Funeraria Bladen Gaskins de Elizabethtown, con un servicio fúnebre inmediatamente después a las 15:30 h. El entierro tendrá lugar después de los servicios en el cementerio Bladen Memorial Gardens en Elizabethtown.
