Milton Joe Callahan

Retired TSGT Milton Joe Callahan, of the United States Air Force passed away on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, while at West Bladen Assisted Living in Bladenboro. He is preceded in death by his parents, Lonnie Callahan and Sylvia Hyatt Callahan and one brother, Bobby Callahan.

Lovingly known to most as “Joe”, he retired to his hometown in Bladenboro, North Carolina to be near his family. He was a loving brother to his sister Ann Long of Bladenboro, and devoted uncle to nieces, Amy Cummings (Sam), Felisa Williams (Richie), and Anna Beverage, nephew Glenn Callahan (Tammy) and a host of great nieces and nephews. He always enjoyed Christmas time together most of all and made sure each niece and nephew had a special monetary gift.

Joe enjoyed traveling to the beach to pick up produce for the family, trips to the local Lock and Dam to sit and view the beauty of nature, and any chance he got to sit for a chat with someone. When not traveling around he enjoyed watching sports, especially his beloved Duke team. He will be missed for his devotion to his country and his family.

The family held a private service.
