Nell Harrelson

Nell Lennon Harrelson, age 92 of Elizabethtown, died at home on Saturday, February 2, 2013. She is preceded in death by her parents, William Caulder Lennon and Maggie Lee McCulloch Lennon; her husband, George W. Harrelson; two children, Hilda Gray Pope and Lennie Harrelson; three brothers, Wilton, Dennis and Max Lennon; three sisters, Beatrice Lennon, Frances Smith and Margie Kohli.

She loved her family dearly and was a blessing to everyone around her. She loved her flower and vegetable gardens. She taught Sunday School at White's Creek Baptist Church for over forty years. She will be greatly missed.

She is survived by four sons, George D. "Buster" Harrelson and wife Connie of Lisbon, Herschel E. Harrelson and wife Judy of Elizabethtown, Paul Harrelson and wife Ruth of Elizabethtown, and William Lee "Billy" Harrelson and wife Linda of Clarkton; three daughters, Janice D. Pope of Clinton, Gail E. Venable of Brownsville, Wisconsin, and Melody Matthews of Clarkton; one sister, Elise Shipman of Clarkton; twenty-one grandchildren, twenty-six great grandchildren and three great, great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Monday, February 4, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bladen-Gaskins Funeral Home. Services will be conducted on Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Whites Creek Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Donald Coley and Rev. Kinsey Barrow. Burial will follow in Bladen Memorial Gardens.
