Paul Marvin Russ, 67, of White Oak, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, November 28, 2025. He was preceded in death by his father, John Marvin Russ and his brother, John Odis Russ.
Paul possessed a deep love for his family, which was evident in the close relationships he nurtured throughout his life. He is survived by his devoted mother, Nita Russ Baker of Ammon; his son, Joshua Paul Russ of Fayetteville; his sister, Janice Russ Johnson and her husband Danny of Bladenboro, as well as his beloved baby dog, Buddy. These family ties showcased his enduring commitment to those he loved.
Throughout his life, Paul enjoyed a myriad of hobbies that brought him joy and fulfillment. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, often spending weekends immersed in nature. Additionally, he took great pleasure in working in his garden, tending to flowers that reflected his nurturing spirit and appreciation for beauty.
Paul’s heartfelt devotion extended beyond his family. He was a proud and devoted Christian, actively involved in his church community. His love for the Lord was a guiding force in his life, and he dedicated time volunteering at the food bank at Windsor Church, embodying compassion and service to others.
The family will receive friends from 4-6pm on Saturday, November 29th at Bladen-Gaskins Funeral Home in Elizabethtown. A funeral service will be held at 2pm on Sunday, November 30th at Windsor House of God in Ammon. Reverend Ricky Burnett, Reverend Eddie McAvoy and Reverend Neil Smith will officiate the service. Burial will follow in the Storms Cemetery in Bladenboro.
